Community Relations
The Community Relations department is PIW's liaison to the community. We educate families, patients and health care professionals about our resources, help clinicians and family members navigate the admissions process, provide informal informational seminars, and bring speakers to schools, clinics, and agencies. Our Grand Rounds series provides workshops on cutting edge topics of interest to professionals working in mental health. From patients to PhDs, members of the community have cited how expert PIW is providing both information and treatment. Keeping close contact with people in a variety of venues helps us to be responsive by developing those services and products that meet the changing needs of the community and to fulfill PIW's prime mission - insuring the patient's well-being and satisfaction.

PIW's Community Relations Department is charged with coordinating the professional and consumer education series that covers a multitude of mental health topics. Our overall objectives are to:
  • Provide the general public with comprehensive information about PIW's services and a better understanding about current mental health issues
  • Communicate and act as a liaison for referral sources and stakeholders
  • Provide advocacy for families and patients by making our patient's well-being and satisfaction our number one priority
  • Develop new services and products to meet the changing needs of the community
  • Provide community and civic education through our speakers bureau
