The Adult Psychiatric Service located on the 4th Floor (APS-4) is a 30 bed, short-term stabilization program for
adults ages 18-65+ with a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency and dual diagnosis/co-occurring
disorder. Patients are assigned to one of our full-time psychiatrists and psychiatric social workers.
All patients are expected to fully engage in the program schedule, which includes psychoeducation,
therapy groups, community meetings and goals groups. The average length of stay is 5 to 14 days,
depending on the patient's individual needs and treatment plan. All patients are discharged with a plan
for the next level of care, including aftercare appointments and housing referral, if needed.
