What happens once a patient is admitted to a partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, or outpatient program at PIW?

• Once admitted to the partial hospitalization or intensive outpatient program (PHP/IOP), you will be introduced to a counselor who will guide you through the treatment process.
• You will be given a handbook, a brief orientation of the treatment center, and a Health Questionnaire that will be reviewed by the program nurse.
• Your counselor will conduct a psychosocial assessment.
• The psychiatrist will complete a psychiatric evaluation.
• The treatment team will meet with you to develop a treatment plan, targeting specific goals and behavior.
• It is important to remember that PHP/IOP is group-focused. Individual contact with your counselor will be arranged to do brief case management and to review treatment progress.
