In a unique collaboration, PIW and the Salvation Army Harbor Light Center have responded to the
critical need for treatment of individuals who are impacted by both substance use disorders and
mental health issues. Provided in both residential and outpatient modalities, clients who are
suffering concurrently from these disorders receive addiction counseling, psychiatric care and
psychological interventions.
The PIW Core Service Agency, New Directions, also resides at the 2100 New York Ave., NE, Harbor
Light location. Clients who have the co-occurring conditions above, and who require a clinical
home to treat serious mental illness are provided with continuing and ongoing care to help ensure
community reintegration.
