The Community Relations Department coordinates monthly educational series for area professionals. Our continuing education activities are offered to mental health professionals throughout the Washington-Metropolitan area, which includes DC, Maryland and Virginia. Many programs are offered to a multi-disciplinary audience, which includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, primary care and other medical physicians who may encounter mental health related issues in their practices.

The Community Relations Department of the Psychiatric Institute of Washington provides programs for the medical staff of PIW, and area professionals relevant to their educational needs as assessed through questionnaires, suggestions from our referral sources, and evaluations from program attendees. Our continuing education workshops provide a forum to share knowledge and broaden professional relationships.

PIW coordinates a speaker bureau to coordinate seminars with area professionals.

The NASW approves this program for continuing education units for Social Workers.

Our Grand Rounds Series is a continuing medical education program designed for psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals.
